Chapter I: Dawn of Realization

Pain. That was the first thing I felt when I woke up to find myself lying on my side. I tried to sit up, only to have my whole body cry out in agony. It was like hot blades were being jabbed over every inch of my body. The pain quickly became too much for me so I ceased trying to move. I just sat on what I felt to be the wooden floor of somebody's home.

I could barely see the walls and the sunlight coming from what I thought could possibly be a window. I raised my hands to the front of my face and found they were blurred. It was only when one of my hands brushed the side of my head did I find the reason for my hazy vision. Blocking my sight were several layers of bandages wrapped around my head. I was about to take them off when I heard the sound of a door opening.

Chapter II: Knowledge Renewed

I awoke the next morning feeling a lot better despite the fact I was still half-man and half-dragon. Looking over at the table I saw Tansu sitting there sleeping peacefully with her head resting on her arms. Not wanting to disturb her, I quietly got out of the bed and made my way over to the door. I was relieved and a little amazed to find that I wasn't in as much pain or as lightheaded as yesterday. Although I felt sore all over, I didn't mind it as much.

When I finally got outside, I was greeted by an incredible sight. A few yards away from the house grew dozens of different kinds of fruit trees and berry bushes. And just a few feet away from them, there were rows of different vegetables growing in the ground. Tansu must be really dedicated to her gardens, I thought to myself, to be able to grow so much on her own.
